So soon.
I can hardly wait.
Oh bother. My Saturday was one interesting night. lol. I went to hang out with Sarah. (Karl wasn't home so YAY!) We got some snacks from Meijer and some booze from Grunts. Then we went out to her house to drink to a movie. We rented Harold and Kumar: Escape from ... wherever.... off of her PPV. While we were waiting for that to start Sarah called Liz to see if she wanted to come hang out too. So we picked her up from her job at Ponderosa and stopped to get some more drinks. (...O.o")
We went back to Sarah's and drank and watched the movie. We walked down the road and back again. We took some weird pics, which I'll post later, and basically started getting rowdy. lol. Earlier Sarah and I had been joking about running through some corn... so when we walked by this 10'x10' plot of corn patch by the side of the road... well, I was going to pick one... but there was none on the stalks I could get to. heheh. So I pulled something like a pumpkin leaf instead and went back to the road to stick it down Sarah's shirt. ^_^
So we're all getting more and more...well, drunk... 'cept Liz who I think only has one all night anyway. *shrug* Sarah calls her cousin (a guy named...??) and he comes over too. At this point I had already had a six pack of Raw Tea and was working my way through my 5th of Smirnoff Mojito... so I was pretty shwasted when I decided it was time to MAKE A CAKE.
We had all the stuff for it and I was doing OK... until Sarah came over and told me I forgot to add the water. So instead of me mixing in the water, she grabs a handful of the batter and RUBS it all over her cousins face.... so of course... we have this HUGE cake batter and whip cream frosting food fight. It GETS everywhere. By the time we're done we all need showers.
Now this is when my night gets interesting... because from this point on a lot of FIRSTS happen. Here's the list:
1. Took a shower with a girl.
2. Was 100% nekked in front of someone else.
3. Saw someone else 100% nekked.
4. Answered the door for pizza in nothing but a towel. (It happened to be Jeremiah Johnson who wanted to come back to party with us after he got out of work.)
5. Felt restricted by a shirt and so walked around topless... then decided it was time to clean the chocolate.
6. Was BLATANTLY stared at while cleaning topless by the only guy in the place and for ONCE, didn't care.
On top of all this... I broke my toe. WTF?
So I finished the book for Holly. Tell me what you think.
This is the front. The book is like.. pine or hunter green with a salmony kind of pink ribbon. In the end I couldn't make myself use a lot of pink. lol. Holly's name in pink stickers with little heart flowers on 'em and a pink butterfly. There's at least 160 pages... More I think...
This is the inside front cover. There are two little pockets to put stuff in... the notes in them now say "Happy Birthday Holly! '08" and the other has stickers on it that say "Fairy Tale/Daydream."
And then... there's my favorite part of the whole book. I'm really in love with it and am actually sad to part with the book because I like it so much....
The Spine! I actually SEWED the ribbon and the button into the cardboard of the spine. It makes it look... amazing. I'm REALLY proud of this. You have no idea. heh.
Do you think she'll write/draw in it? Think it looks like a Holly thing?

I love this.
So last night my family sat down together for a movie. Not finding anything interesting enough for all of us, my dad left it on a show about prophecies. Mostly it was about the many theories of the coming apocalypse and how it all points to the date 2012. Apparently, the Mayan calender, Book of Merlin, Book of I Ching, several other prophetic books including the book of revelations in the bible and other groups like the Hopi all point to a MAJOR change in that year... most of them for the worse. The theory that seems most reasonable (and by that I mean scientific) and also seems to correlate with most of the prophecies, is the theory that the something (it was either the black hole? at the center of the milky way galaxy or the sun) will omit a blast that with cause the poles of the earth to shift. According to geographers, it has happened to the Earth before and the poles have already been shifting a bit each year. In the theory, the blast will cause the poles to shift rapidly, almost all at once, instead of slow and steady. This will 'cause temperatures and water levels to rise, earthquakes to happen, etc. The north/south pole will be around the equator. I guess the Mayans and the Book of I Ching (or some guy who graphed it out anyway) and the Book of Merlin all say this will kind of disaster will happen in 2012. If you can't already tell... this show got me very curious. It's kind of spooky that all these different cultures, using different means, came to the same conclusion about the same date. It almost makes sense to me, especially in light of the changes that are being recorded happening to the Earth already.
Still, my opinions are:
The Earth has survived worse things than humans and humans can't live forever.
The Earth will change no matter what we do. We can't stop an ice age or its inverse.
We can't know that what we do is helping, instead of harming. Perhaps the world NEEDS to heat up and the water levels NEED to rise? Maybe the ocean and shore meet to exchange nutrients and the high water levels fill up aquifers or something. Just because it seems bad for us doesn't mean it isn't what is supposed to be happening. Maybe we're still making mistake like before. I mean... perhaps... when we make new "environmentally safe" technology and it turns out to create some new problem that are worse than the problems we face now. You'll never know. You might blame yourself for it later.
But I think the part that REALLY pisses me off... is knowing that most of the new eco-friendlies... are doing it because it IS a fad. Just like those "patriotic" types after 9-11. I really don't feel like any of them really care about the EARTH so much as they worry about THEMSELVES.
I also feel like its America's "Y2K" thing all over again. What? We're doomed in 2000? Let's buy stuff! What? Eco-friendly Popsicles? We have to get those! They're friendly! I LIKE that companies are thinking of ways to make better products that way... I DON'T like those products that use it to sell... like Campbell's Soup when they put a green label on their can. How does that help? You're can is still made of metal. It's not biodegradable. I don't like fakers.
You may think I'm ignorant or arrogant or something... but keep that to yourself. If you can't handle a healthy discussion without going "MUST-CHANGE-YOUR-POINT-OF-VIEW!" on me, then don't bother saying anything.
